Lee Lawson (October 14, 1941 – May 22, 2022) was an American actress and psychologist born in New York City. She worked across stage, soap opera, and television throughout her career, accumulating credits in all three mediums before pursuing a second profession in clinical psychology.
Lawson's Broadway career spanned from 1965 to 1979 and comprised six productions. Her stage credits included Teibele and Her Demon, An African Millionaire, The Plough and the Stars, My Daughter Your Son, and Agatha Sue, I Love You, among other productions.
On television, Lawson became widely recognized for two long-running soap opera roles. She portrayed Bea Reardon on Guiding Light from 1981 to 1990 and played Barbara Sterling on Love of Life. Her television work also included guest appearances on Maude and Kojak. Her final screen credit was an episode of the 1991 series Reasonable Doubts.
Following her acting career, Lawson earned a doctorate in clinical psychology and worked as a psychologist and crisis counselor. She was married to Joseph Bova and had three children.
Lawson died in New York City on May 22, 2022, at the age of 80, from cancer and COVID-19.
