Percy Reginald Lawrence-Grant was born on 30 October 1870 in Bournemouth, England, and died on 19 February 1952. An English actor, he built a career that spanned both the stage and screen, earning recognition in supporting roles across film and a Broadway presence that extended from 1908 to 1922.
On Broadway, Grant appeared in a range of productions across multiple genres. His stage credits included the musicals The Whirl of the World and The Arcadians, as well as The Road to Mandalay, the play The Lady Cristilinda, and Lilac Time, among other productions during his years on the New York stage.
Grant also established himself in film, taking on supporting roles in pictures including Shanghai Express, The Mask of Fu Manchu, Son of Frankenstein, The Living Ghost, and I'll Tell the World. In 1931, he served as host of the 4th Academy Awards ceremonies.
