Laurel Cronin (October 10, 1939 – October 26, 1992) was an American actress, singer, and dancer whose career spanned theatre, film, and television. Born to Frank and Elizabeth Lewis, Cronin grew up and built the foundation of her professional life in the Chicago area, where she maintained a residence in Oak Park, Illinois, for twenty years.
The majority of Cronin's career was rooted in Chicago theatre, where she worked for thirty-five years before relocating to Los Angeles in 1990. Her sustained commitment to the Chicago stage earned her significant recognition, including the 1987 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Mrs. Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer at the Court Theatre.
Cronin's Broadway work took place between 1978 and 1980, during which she appeared in Annie and Passion. She was originally from Forest Park, Illinois.
Outside of her professional life, Cronin was the mother of two children, a son named Christopher and a daughter named Jennifer. She died of cancer on October 26, 1992, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at the age of 53.
