Krystina Alabado

Krystina Helena Alabado, born August 7, 1989, is an American actress and singer whose career has spanned Broadway productions, national tours, and voice acting. She grew up in Chandler, Arizona, where she attended Hamilton High School, and later studied musical theatre for one year at Arizona State University. Her parents are immigrants from Mexico and Lebanon.

Alabado began her professional career at age 18 when she joined the national tour of Spring Awakening as an ensemble member. After relocating to New York City in 2009, she made her Broadway debut on February 28, 2011, stepping into a replacement ensemble role and understudy position in American Idiot. She subsequently reprised her work in that production on its first national tour. In 2013, she joined the national tour of Evita, which was based on the 2012 Broadway revival, portraying Juan Perón's mistress.

Alabado's Broadway career continued in 2016 with American Psycho, where she performed in the ensemble and originated the role of Vanden, a nightclub singer. She also understudied the principal role of Jean during that production's run. In March 2019, she joined Mean Girls on Broadway as Gretchen Wieners, taking over the role from Ashley Park, who had originated it. Alabado had previously auditioned for the show during its development phase without being cast, a detail she disclosed in an October 2019 interview. She remained with Mean Girls through its final performance on March 11, 2020.

Beyond performing, Alabado co-founded Pop Rock Broadway in November 2019 alongside her Evita tour co-star Desi Oakley. The program offers Broadway training for young actors in New York City, with a focus on pop, rock, and contemporary musical theatre. During the COVID-19 pandemic, which temporarily shuttered Broadway, she launched a YouTube channel to explain the workings of the industry and interview fellow cast members. She has continued producing similar content after Broadway's reopening, and in 2024 began sharing fan art she receives at conventions.

In 2024, Alabado began voicing Cherri Bomb in the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel. According to co-star Amir Talai, the voice recording took place in 2021. Series creator Vivienne Medrano has noted that Alabado performed "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts for her audition. Alabado regularly attends fan conventions in connection with the role.
