About

Kristoffer Cusick is an American actor born on March 29, 1974, in Lakewood, California, who has worked in stage, television, and film. His Broadway career spans from 1996 to 2014 and includes notable productions such as Saturday Night Fever, Rent, Wicked, First Date, and If/Then.

Cusick originated two roles in the original Broadway cast of Saturday Night Fever at the Minskoff Theatre: Kenny, and swing for the character Gus. The production opened on October 21, 1999, and ran until December 30, 2000. He was also part of the original Broadway cast of Wicked in 2003, serving as an understudy for the role of Fiyero. He stepped into the role on Broadway from November 25 to December 22, 2003, covering for Norbert Leo Butz during a medical leave, before being succeeded by Taye Diggs for the remainder of Butz's absence.

Beyond Broadway, Cusick created the role of Fiyero in the sit-down Chicago production of Wicked, departing on December 10, 2006, alongside Elphaba portrayer Kristy Cates and Timothy Britten Parker, who played Doctor Dillamond. He was replaced in that production by Brad Bass. Cusick subsequently reprised Fiyero in the Los Angeles production of Wicked, where he remained until May 13, 2008, when Derrick Williams took over the role. He returned to the Chicago production on June 3, replacing Michael Seelbach, and stayed through the production's closure on January 25, 2009. During his time with the Los Angeles cast, he appeared in the Ugly Betty episode "Something Wicked This Way Comes," in which two characters attend a performance of the show.

Cusick was a standby in the original Broadway cast of Hands on a Hardbody, which began previews on February 23, 2013, opened on March 21, 2013, and closed on April 13, 2013. Later that same year, he played Reggie, Aaron's Future Son, and Edgy Rocker Guy in the Broadway musical comedy First Date at the Longacre Theatre, a production that ran previews beginning July 9, 2013, opened August 8, 2013, and closed January 5, 2014. In 2014, Cusick joined the cast of If/Then, performing the roles of Guidance Counselor and Soldier while also understudying Lucas, from July 24 to September 14, 2014.

In addition to his Broadway work, Cusick appeared in the Off-Broadway production of Extraordinary Ordinary at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row, which ran from November 29 to December 18, 2010. He was also part of the American Conservatory Theater cast of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City, which began previews on May 17, 2011, and closed on July 31, 2011, following three extensions.

Before establishing himself in New York and Chicago, Cusick traveled internationally while working aboard a cruise ship and spent a year in Tokyo employed by Tokyo Disneyland. He is openly gay.
