About

Kitty Kelly, born Sue O'Neil on April 27, 1902, in New York City, was an American stage and film character actress whose career spanned Broadway, film, radio, and television. She died on June 29, 1968, in Hollywood, California, following a battle with cancer.

Kelly's stage career included Broadway appearances from 1921 to 1930, among them the musical Mystery Moon and the plays Little Orchid Annie, Back Here, The 19th Hole, and Oh, Please. She also performed in England during her stage career. Her work on Broadway coincided with her association with the Ziegfeld Follies, for which she became a recognized member.

Beyond the stage, Kelly built a substantial presence in other media. She served as a radio host with Columbia Broadcasting and appeared in film throughout the 1930s and 1940s. Among her screen roles, she portrayed Lt. Ethel Armstrong in the 1943 Paramount wartime drama So Proudly We Hail!, and she appeared in the 1935 Our Gang comedy short Beginner's Luck.

Following the war years, Kelly transitioned into television, accumulating guest appearances across a range of series including Bonanza, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Batman, and Perry Mason. On Perry Mason she appeared four times, including the role of Millie Foster in the 1958 episode "The Case of the Rolling Bones." Her Alfred Hitchcock Presents credits included the role of Miss Andrews in the 1958 episode "Listen, Listen...!" and the role of Marie in the 1958 episode "Little White Frock."
