Kingsley Benedict was an American actor born on November 14, 1878, in Buffalo, New York. He built a career spanning both stage and screen before his death on November 27, 1951, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.

Benedict spent seventeen years working in the theater before transitioning to film. His Broadway work included the 1905 musical How Baxter Butted In, a credit documented in verified production records from that period.

Beginning in 1915, Benedict shifted his focus to silent film, ultimately appearing in more than fifty productions between that year and 1930. His screen work began with Judge Not; or The Woman of Mona Diggings and Christmas Memories, both released in 1915. The following years brought a steady output of film roles, including The Bugler of Algiers, The Crippled Hand, and The Love Girl in 1916, followed by The Voice on the Wire, The Plow Woman, The Mystery Ship, and Man and Beast in 1917.

Benedict continued working in film into the 1920s, with credits including The Secret of the Hills (1921), Gay and Devilish (1922), The Kentucky Derby (1922), A Man of Action (1923), Riders of the Plains (1924), White Thunder (1925), The Arizona Sweepstakes (1926), and Fast and Furious (1927). His final screen credit was Terry of the Times in 1930.
