Kent Broadhurst

Kent Broadhurst, born February 4, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American actor, playwright, screenwriter, and painter. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1962 and has since built a career across stage, film, and television, based in New York.

On Broadway, Broadhurst appeared in A Doll's House in 1997. His stage work extends to numerous off-Broadway and regional theater productions throughout his career.

As a playwright, Broadhurst has had multiple works produced at the Humana Festival at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, including They're Coming To Make It Brighter, Lemons, The Eye of the Beholder, and The Habitual Acceptance of the Near Enough. His screenwriting credits include the 2001 television film Wild Iris.

Broadhurst's film appearances include The Verdict, Silkwood, and Silver Bullet. His television work encompasses productions such as Law & Order, Babylon 5, War and Remembrance, and Kane and Abel.

Beyond his acting and writing work, Broadhurst served as the on-stage narrator in the role of the hypnotherapist during progressive metal band Dream Theater's New York City performance of Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory. That performance was documented in the band's DVD release Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York. Broadhurst is also a painter.
