Kathryn Sheldon was an American actress born on September 22, 1879, whose career spanned both stage and screen across several decades.
Sheldon made her Broadway appearance in 1919, performing in Those Who Walk in Darkness. Her work in theater coincided with a prolific film career that began in 1916 and extended through 1956, encompassing more than 100 film appearances over that forty-year period.
Among her screen credits, Sheldon appeared in two notable short films that have continued to attract audiences. In 1937, she took on the role of a harried dance recital teacher in the Our Gang short film Rushin' Ballet. Three years later, in 1940, she portrayed the domineering character Nell in the Three Stooges short film Rockin' thru the Rockies.
Sheldon died in Los Angeles, California on December 25, 1975, at the age of 96.
