Kate Fleetwood

Kate Fleetwood is an English actress and voice-over artist born on 24 September 1972. She grew up on a farm in Arden, Warwickshire, near Stratford-upon-Avon, and attended Trinity Catholic School in Leamington Spa before going on to study at Exeter University. Her connection to the stage began early, with work at the Royal Shakespeare Company during her childhood.

Fleetwood's Broadway debut came in 2008 with Macbeth, in which she played Lady Macbeth opposite Patrick Stewart. The production originated at Chichester Festival Theatre before transferring to the West End and subsequently to Broadway. The role earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play. The production was directed by Rupert Goold, who is also her husband; the two have a son and a daughter together.

In 2012, Fleetwood received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Julie in London Road at the National Theatre. Her screen work includes the television adaptation Vanity Fair in 2004, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 in 2010, the film Macbeth in 2010, Philomena in 2013, the film adaptation of London Road in 2015, the television series Harlots from 2017 to 2019, and The Wheel of Time from 2021 to 2025.

Beyond her performing career, Fleetwood serves as patron of En Masse Theatre and, alongside her husband Rupert Goold, as joint patron of Escape Arts' youth arts work.
