Kate Fahrner

Kate Fahrner is an American actress and singer whose Broadway credits include Wicked and South Pacific, with her stage work spanning productions in New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Fahrner's Broadway involvement with Wicked centered on the role of Glinda. Prior to joining the Broadway company, she built her association with the production through the Chicago run, where she entered the ensemble in 2006 and began understudying Erin Mackey in early 2007. From April 15 through June 1, 2008, she stepped into the role of Glinda for a seven-week period before being replaced by Annaleigh Ashford. She later joined the Broadway company on August 23, 2011, taking over from Laura Woyasz as the Glinda standby.

Her national tour credits include South Pacific, in which she performed as part of the ensemble and served as understudy for Nellie Forbush, as well as The Full Monty and Cats. She also appeared Off-Broadway in Under My Skin alongside Kerry Butler and Megan Sikora, and took on understudy duties for the roles of Anna and Caleb in the 2006 musical production of Sarah, Plain and Tall.

Fahrner developed a recurring relationship with Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre, where she played Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray, appeared in Garson Kanin's Born Yesterday from March 10 through April 26, 2009, and portrayed Jovie in a 2013 production of Elf. She also performed as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport, New York, running from February 3 through March 27, 2011. In 2015, she played Fantine in Les Misérables at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
