Karl Lukas, born Karol Louis Lukasiak on August 21, 1919, in Lowell, Massachusetts, was an American actor whose career spanned Broadway, film, and television. He died on January 16, 1995, of heart failure in Westlake Village, California, at the age of 75, and was buried at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
Lukas established his stage career in New York between 1948 and 1951, appearing in two Broadway productions during that period. His credits included Mister Roberts and Remains to Be Seen.
On television, Lukas became widely recognized for his recurring role as Private Stash Kadowski on The Phil Silvers Show. Beyond that signature role, he accumulated an extensive list of guest appearances across multiple decades of American television, with credits including The Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rockford Files, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Rawhide, Wagon Train, The Beverly Hillbillies, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The F.B.I., Petticoat Junction, and The Monkees. He also appeared in multiple episodes of Family Affair, Bewitched, and Mister Ed.
