About

Kaitlyn Dawn Bristowe, born June 19, 1985, is a Canadian television personality, podcast host, and Broadway performer who grew up in Leduc, Alberta, the daughter of a ballerina. As an adult she relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she worked as a spin-class instructor. In her early twenties she earned a position as a cheerleader for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.

Bristowe first gained national attention as a contestant on the nineteenth season of ABC's The Bachelor, hosted by Chris Soules, where she finished third behind runner-up Becca Tilley and winner Whitney Bischoff. She subsequently became the lead of the eleventh season of The Bachelorette, a role announced on the show's "After the Final Rose" segment alongside fellow season nineteen contestant Britt Nilsson before Bristowe was named the official Bachelorette. Her season concluded with her engagement to contestant Shawn Booth; the two announced their separation on November 2, 2018. Bristowe later co-hosted seasons 17 and 18 of The Bachelorette alongside Tayshia Adams.

In 2017, Bristowe appeared on Broadway in Home for the Holidays. That same year, on May 29, 2017, she launched her podcast, Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe. In 2019 she founded her wine label Spade and Sparrows, and on May 14, 2020, she released her debut single, "If I'm Being Honest."

During the June 2020 broadcast of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!, host Chris Harrison offered Bristowe a spot on the twenty-ninth season of Dancing with the Stars. Bristowe had previously alleged that Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss blocked her from participating in the show when she was offered a place in 2015. She was officially announced as a cast member on September 2, 2020, and was partnered with professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev. On November 23, 2020, the pair were declared the season's winners. Bristowe was subsequently announced on November 8, 2021, as one of the performers joining the Dancing with the Stars Live! 2022 Tour, scheduled to appear at 55 of the tour's 66 dates alongside Chigvintsev.

Following her engagement to Shawn Booth, Bristowe began dating Jason Tartick, a former contestant from Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette, in January 2019. The two shared a home in Nashville, Tennessee. In September 2019 they appeared in country singer Brett Kissel's music video for his number one hit "Drink About Me," and in November 2020 their dogs were featured in Kissel's "A Few Good Stories" with Walk off the Earth. Bristowe and Tartick announced their engagement in May 2021 and released a joint statement ending that engagement on August 6, 2023.

On August 18, 2025, Bristowe co-hosted Are You My First?, a dating reality series featuring twenty-one virgin singles, alongside Colton Underwood on Hulu. Bristowe has also disclosed on the Out & About podcast that she is bisexual.
