Born Judith Young on November 6, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, Judy Lewis was the daughter of actress Loretta Young and actor Clark Gable, conceived while her parents were on location filming the 1935 picture "The Call of the Wild." She earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University, going on to become a licensed family and child counselor in 1992. She married Joseph Tinney; they had one daughter, Maria.

Her film credits include "Airport 1975," "Girl 27," "Operation Bikini," "Southern Double Cross," and "Thunder in Dixie." On television, she appeared in "Perry Mason," "One Day at a Time," "General Hospital," "77 Sunset Strip," "The Streets of San Francisco," and "Police Woman."

In 1994, Judy Lewis disclosed the story of her parentage in her memoir, "Uncommon Knowledge."
