About

Josh Segarra is an American actor born on June 3, 1986, in Longwood, Florida. Of Puerto Rican heritage and fluent in Spanish, he developed his singing ability through his Pentecostal church before pursuing a career in performance. He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Early in his life, Segarra had aspirations of becoming a professional wrestler.

Segarra's professional career began in television, where from 2009 to 2011 he played the recurring character Hector Ruiz on the PBS Kids Go series The Electric Company. His Broadway career commenced in 2011, when he originated the role of Mick in the musical Lysistrata Jones. In 2012, he joined the Off-Broadway world premiere of Dogfight at the Tony Kiser Theater at Second Stage Theater, a musical adaptation with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Peter Duchan, which opened on July 16, 2012.

Segarra's most prominent Broadway credit came in 2015, when he originated the role of Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet!, which opened at the Marquis Theater on November 5, 2015. His final performance in the production took place on July 10, 2016. During this same period, he appeared in the comedy film Trainwreck in 2015 and held a recurring role on the NBC police procedural Chicago P.D., making his final appearance on that series in May 2016.

Following his Broadway run, Segarra joined the CW series Arrow as a series regular in its fifth season, portraying Adrian Chase, the show's adaptation of the comic book character. He subsequently returned to the series in guest capacities during its sixth and eighth seasons. His television work continued with recurring roles on The Other Two, an HBO Max comedy series beginning in January 2019, and the Netflix comedy AJ and the Queen, which premiered on January 10, 2020. He also appeared during the third season of FBI as a special agent and starred as a pastor in the musical film Christmas on the Square, both in 2020.

In 2022, Segarra appeared in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The following year, he had a supporting role in the slasher sequel Scream VI, released in March 2023, and appeared in the second season of the drama series Heels. He also portrays Giorgio across both seasons of the Apple TV+ series The Big Door Prize. In 2024, he appeared in Abbott Elementary as Manny, a school district representative for Philadelphia. On October 17, 2014, Segarra married Brace Rice, and the couple have three sons together.
