About
Jordan Bridges is an American actor born on November 13, 1973, in Los Angeles County, California. He is the son of actor Beau Bridges and Julie Bridges, the nephew of Jeff Bridges, and the grandson of Lloyd Bridges and Dorothy Bridges. His maternal grandfather, Marvin Landfield, was the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants.
Bridges made his first professional acting appearance at age five in the 1982 television film The Kid from Nowhere, which was directed by his father. He appeared again in the 1986 television film The Thanksgiving Promise, a production that featured the entire Bridges family. Choosing not to pursue a career as a child actor, he stepped away from the profession and enrolled at the Oakwood School in Los Angeles, an institution with a strong arts focus that renewed his interest in acting. He went on to study theater as a major and literature as a minor at Bard College in New York. During his junior year, he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in England, living in Chelsea and attending West End productions on complimentary passes.
After completing his classical training, Bridges worked as a waiter in both New York and Los Angeles for several years before establishing himself in film, television, and theater. His film credits include Drive Me Crazy (1999), Frequency (2000), Happy Campers (2001), New Suit (2002), Mona Lisa Smile (2003), Samantha: An American Girl Holiday (2004), Family Plan (2005), and the Love Comes Softly series entries Love Takes Wing and Love Finds a Home, both from 2009. In A Holiday Engagement (2011), he played David, a man hired to pose as a woman's fiancé during Thanksgiving. On television, he held a recurring role on Dawson's Creek, guest-starred in the fourth-season premiere of Charmed as Paige's boyfriend Shane, played Nick Potter in the short-lived NBC series Conviction, and portrayed the recurring character Tom Hastings in Bionic Woman.
In 2006, Bridges appeared on Broadway in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his role as Frankie Rizzoli in the TNT drama series Rizzoli & Isles, which ran from July 2010 through September 2016.
Bridges married artist and inventor Caroline Sherman Eastman in 2002 at Burning Man and held a second ceremony on January 2, 2003, in Kauai, Hawaii. They have two children together.
