Jonalyn Saxer

Jonalyn Saxer is an American theatre actress who performed on Broadway between 2014 and 2023, accumulating credits across multiple productions in ensemble, swing, and understudy capacities. She grew up in Agoura Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles, California, where she attended Oak Park High School and was raised in a family with a background in music and performance. Saxer went on to graduate from Syracuse University in 2014.

Her professional stage career began before her Broadway debut, when she earned her Actors Equity card in 2013 performing in 42nd Street at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. The following year she made her Broadway debut as a swing in Bullets Over Broadway. She subsequently opened Broadway productions as an ensemble member in both Honeymoon in Vegas and Holiday Inn, the latter of which is also listed among her verified Broadway credits as Holiday Inn, The New Irving Berlin Musical.

In 2016, Saxer joined the Broadway cast of Cats, where she covered five separate roles, or tracks, within the production. Two years later she became part of the original Broadway cast of Mean Girls, having first joined the company during its Washington, D.C. preview engagements. Within that production she served as an ensemble member while also understudying the roles of Regina George, Karen Smith, and Cady Heron. She later starred as Karen Smith in the North American national tour of Mean Girls. Among her close friendships formed during that production is one with actress Ashley Park, who lived with Saxer's family for a period during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Saxer appeared in Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of West Side Story, performing as a Jet girl. She returned to Broadway in 2023 as a member of the original cast of Back to the Future: The Musical, and in keeping with a longstanding Broadway tradition, she was awarded the Legacy Robe at that production's opening. In 2024, Saxer participated in a workshop of Smash.
