Jonathan David Korkes was born on December 4, 1945, in New York, and was raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts, where he attended and graduated from Marblehead High School. An American actor who worked across film, stage, and television, Korkes died in New York on December 31, 2025, at the age of 80.

Korkes began his theatrical career in 1968 with Jules Feiffer's Little Murders, a production directed by Alan Arkin. His Broadway work followed, spanning 1969 to 1971 and encompassing two productions: Epstein and The Penny Wars.

His film career included a notable early role as Snowden in the 1970 adaptation of Catch-22, the same year he appeared as a Looter in The Out-of-Towners. He played Kenny Newquist in the 1971 film version of Little Murders and went on to appear in The Outside Man (1972), The Day of the Dolphin (1973) as David, The Front Page (1974) as Rudy Keppler, and Two-Minute Warning (1976) as Jeffrey. Additional film credits include Between the Lines (1977), Jaws of Satan (1981), Worth Winning (1989), Syngenor (1990), Too Much Sun (1990), Getting Away with Murder (1996), Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), and The Double (2013).

On television, Korkes accumulated credits across several decades, appearing in All in the Family and its spin-off Maude, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Starsky and Hutch, The Rookies, Dr. Vegas, Homicide: Life on the Street, and The Larry Sanders Show, among others. He became particularly well known for his recurring role as corrections officer Tom Robinson in the drama series Oz, a part he held from 2001 to 2003.
