John Mahr Rothman, born June 3, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, is an American actor whose career spans film, television, and stage. He is the son of Elizabeth D. (née Davidson) and Donald N. Rothman, a lawyer, and the brother of film executive Thomas Rothman. Rothman earned his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University before completing his training at the Yale School of Drama.

His Broadway career extended from 1990 to 2013 and included four productions: Richard Nelson's Some Americans Abroad, the 2007 revival of Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and George is Dead. Beyond Broadway, Rothman was active in Off-Broadway theater, where his credits include The Impossible H. L. Mencken, a one-person play he wrote himself.

On screen, Rothman appeared in the comedy Ghostbusters in 1984, followed by Big in 1988. His film work continued with Gettysburg in 1993, in which he portrayed Union General John F. Reynolds, and later included Jingle All the Way (1996), Say It Isn't So (2001), Welcome to Mooseport (2004), and Taxi (2004). In 2006 he took on the dramatic role of real-life September 11 victim Edward Felt in United 93. He returned to the Ghostbusters franchise in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire in 2024.

Rothman's television appearances include Guiding Light, Law & Order, Blue Bloods, and Arrested Development.
