John Golightly is a British actor born on 18 May 1936 in Resolven, Wales. His father worked as a transport foreman. Following grammar school, Golightly trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and subsequently built his early career performing in repertory theatres throughout Britain.

His screen career spanned approximately 45 years and encompassed both film and television. Among his film appearances are The Heroes of Telemark (1965), Laughter in the Dark (1969), and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984). On television, Golightly accumulated credits across a wide range of productions, including Colditz, an episode of UFO titled "Sub-Smash," Sapphire & Steel, Lovejoy, Inspector Morse, Softly, Softly, and Angels.

In addition to his work in Britain, Golightly appeared on Broadway in 1968, with his credited stage production being Rockefeller and the Red Indians.
