About
John Cardoza is an American actor and singer originally from southeastern Massachusetts. Born around 1994, he spent fifteen years as a competitive figure skater before pursuing a career in musical theater. He trained at the Boston Conservatory of Music and has been openly queer throughout his public life.
Cardoza made his Broadway debut in 2019 as a member of the ensemble in Jagged Little Pill. Before returning to Broadway, he took on the role of Daniel in a musical adaptation of The Karate Kid in St. Louis in 2022. That same year, he originated the role of Younger Noah in the world premiere of The Notebook in Chicago, a credit that would define a significant chapter of his career.
When The Notebook transferred to Broadway in March 2024, Cardoza reprised the role of Younger Noah, remaining with the production until October of that year. His work in the show represents one of his most prominent Broadway credits. In 2023, prior to The Notebook's Broadway run, he starred as Christian in the U.S. national tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. He subsequently joined the Broadway company of Moulin Rouge! in October 2024, continuing in that production through April 13, 2025. Following the close of that engagement, he returned to the North American tour of Moulin Rouge! to reprise the role of Christian for performances in Mexico and California.
Cardoza is scheduled to play J.D. in Heathers beginning April 27, 2026.
