About
John Behlmann is an American actor born in Florissant, Missouri, outside of St. Louis. During grade school he relocated to England, where he lived for two years, before moving to Katy, Texas. He later left Texas to attend Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and after graduating he trained at the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver. He subsequently moved to New York City to pursue a career in theater and continues to live there with his wife and two children.
Behlmann's Broadway career spans 2007 to 2025 and includes work across both plays and musicals. His stage credits include The 39 Steps, Significant Other, Journey's End, Tootsie, and SMASH. He starred in Shucked, and also appeared in The Great Gatsby on Broadway.
Beyond the stage, Behlmann has worked in film and television. His screen credits include The Wolf of Wall Street and Revolutionary Road, as well as the television series Guiding Light and All My Children.
