Joanna Going

Joanna Catherine Going, born July 22, 1963, in New York, New York, is an American actress whose work spans stage, film, and television. Her father was of Irish descent, and her mother of Italian and French-Canadian heritage.

Going began her screen career in soap operas during the late 1980s, playing Lisa Grady on Another World from 1987 to 1989. In 1991, she took on the lead role of Victoria Winters in the primetime revival series Dark Shadows, followed by appearances in the short-lived series Going to Extremes and guest roles on Columbo, Spin City, The Outer Limits, and Law & Order.

Her film debut came in 1994 with Wyatt Earp, in which she portrayed Josephine Marcus. That same year, she made her Broadway debut in The Flowering Peach. Subsequent film roles included Eden, Keys to Tulsa, Inventing the Abbotts, Still Breathing, and the 1998 feature Phantoms. After a period away from major motion pictures, she appeared alongside Sean Penn in Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life in 2011, and had previously appeared in Runaway Jury in 2003.

In the 2000s, Going expanded her television presence with guest appearances on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Minds, and Mad Men. In 2014, she joined the second season of the Netflix series House of Cards as First Lady Tricia Walker, and was subsequently cast in the DirecTV series Kingdom.

Going married actor Dylan Walsh on October 10, 2004. The couple have a daughter, Stella Haven. Walsh filed for divorce on December 15, 2010, and the divorce was finalized in December 2012.
