Joan Peers (August 19, 1909 – July 11, 1975) was an American actress who worked in both stage and film. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she built a career that spanned Broadway and Hollywood during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Peers made her Broadway appearance in 1929 in the play Marry the Man. That same year, she appeared in Applause, a film directed by Rouben Mamoulian and set in the world of burlesque, which became one of her most recognized screen roles.
Her film career extended into the early 1930s and included a range of productions. Among her screen credits are Rain or Shine (1930), Tol'able David (1930), Paramount on Parade (1930), Around the Corner (1930), Anybody's War (1930), The Tip-Off (1931), Parlor, Bedroom and Bath (1931), and Over the Hill (1931).
