Joan Haythorne was a British actress born Joan Haythornthwaite on 12 April 1915 in London. She died on 27 August 1987 in Richmond on Thames, Surrey. Her son was the screenwriter Jeremy Paul.
Haythorne appeared on Broadway in 1952 in Venus Observed. Her film work spanned the 1940s through the 1960s and included School for Secrets (1946), Highly Dangerous (1950), Svengali (1954), The Weak and the Wicked (1954), The Feminine Touch (1956), Dry Rot (1956), Three Men in a Boat (1956), The Shakedown (1959), Very Important Person (1961), So Evil, So Young (1961), and The Battleaxe (1962).
In addition to her film career, Haythorne worked extensively in British television. Her television credits included Richard the Lionheart (1961–62), an episode of Justice titled To Help an Old School Friend in which she played Laura (1971), Thriller (1974), and Hadleigh (1976).
