About

Jin Ha is a South Korean-born American actor whose work spans Broadway, television, and film. Born in Seoul, Ha relocated to the United States at the age of eight. He attended Choate Rosemary Hall, a college-preparatory school in Connecticut, before enrolling at Columbia University, where he studied East Asian languages and cultures rather than theater, earning his degree in 2013. He subsequently pursued formal actor training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he completed a graduate degree in acting.

Ha's professional acting career began in 2016 with a role in Troilus and Cressida through Shakespeare in the Park. He then joined the original company of the Chicago production of Hamilton, performing as ensemble member Phillip Schuyler and James Reynolds while also serving as understudy for Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, John Laurens, Phillip Hamilton, and King George III. He returned to the Chicago production in 2018 to take on the role of Aaron Burr, and reprised that role again for the Broadway production's reopening in 2021 following its closure during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among Ha's most prominent Broadway credits is the 2017 revival of David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly, in which he originated the role of Chinese opera singer Song Liling opposite Clive Owen, under the direction of Julie Taymor. His Broadway work also includes Proof, which falls within his verified stage credits spanning 2015 to 2026.

Beyond the stage, Ha appeared as Annas in NBC's 2018 live television production of Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which featured John Legend and Sara Bareilles. In 2020, he starred in the FX series Devs and held a recurring role in the HBO Max series Love Life alongside Anna Kendrick. Beginning in 2022, Ha has starred as Solomon Baek in Pachinko, the Apple TV+ series adapted from Min Jin Lee's novel of the same name.
