Jim Newman is an American actor, writer, producer, and director born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, who has built a career spanning Broadway performance, television animation writing, and live stage production. He resides in Burbank, California.

Newman's Broadway career extended from 1993 to 2025 and included a starring role in Big. He also appeared in Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia!, and Hands on a Hardbody, among other productions during that period.
