About
Jennifer Paz, also known professionally as Jennifer Paz-Fedorov, is a Filipino-American actress and Broadway performer whose career spans stage, voice acting, and writing. Born in the Philippines, she relocated with her family to Seattle at age five, settling near her mother's brother. She is the youngest of four children.
Paz launched her professional career at age 21, after completing her freshman year at the University of Washington in Seattle, when she was cast as the alternate for the lead role of Kim in the first national U.S. tour of Miss Saigon. That debut marked the beginning of a long association with the production; she has since reprised the role of Kim in multiple regional productions, including a 2013 engagement at Casa Mañana theatre. Her Broadway credits, spanning 1987 to 1992, include Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. She also appeared in the pre-Broadway run of David Henry Hwang's revised Flower Drum Song at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, playing the role of Mei-Li during a celebrated five-week extension of that production.
Her stage work has earned her recognition including a 2008 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Best Lead Actress, along with additional award nominations and wins throughout her career.
Beyond the stage, Paz is widely recognized for her voice work on the Cartoon Network series Steven Universe and its continuation Steven Universe Future, where she provides the recurring voice of Lapis Lazuli as well as part of the voice of Malachite. She has contributed to several Steven Universe soundtrack recordings, including songs on Steven Universe, Vol. 2, Steven Universe the Movie, and Steven Universe Future. Her recording work also includes contributions to Walt Disney Records releases, among them The Legacy Collection: Cinderella and The Lost Chords: The Rescuers.
Paz is additionally a recipient of the 2022/23 National Alliance of Musical Theatre Writers Residency Grant and won the Outstanding Screenplays TV Pilot Competition in 2021 for her original comedy Proud Marys. In her personal life, she became engaged to Anthony Fedorov on December 25, 2012, and the couple's son, Julian Paz Fedorov, was born on April 1, 2013.
