Jennifer Harmon is an American actress born on December 3, 1943, in Pasadena, California, whose career has spanned Broadway and television from 1965 through 2011.
Harmon made her Broadway debut in 1965 in You Can't Take It With You, launching a stage career that would extend across nearly five decades. Her Broadway credits include The School for Scandal, Right You Are If You Think You Are, We Comrades Three, The Wild Duck, The Cherry Orchard, The Show-Off, Blithe Spirit, The Little Foxes, The Deep Blue Sea, The Sisters Rosensweig, Amy's View, The Dinner Party, The Glass Menagerie, Seascape, Barefoot in the Park, Dividing the Estate, and Other Desert Cities.
On television, Harmon served as lead actress on the NBC daytime drama How to Survive a Marriage from 1974 to 1975. She subsequently joined the cast of the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, portraying the villainous Cathy Craig from 1976 to 1978, a role for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1978. Harmon returned to One Life to Live in 1991, this time in the recurring role of Victoria Lord's attorney. That same year she appeared on Guiding Light as Jean Weatherill. In 1995, she played Lucretia Jones on the ABC soap opera Loving.
Harmon also accumulated a range of television guest appearances, including roles on Madigan, Barnaby Jones, Dallas, St. Elsewhere, Homicide: Life on the Street, The Cosby Mysteries, Law & Order, Oz, and The Good Wife. Additionally, she appeared in 21 episodes of the CBS Radio Mystery Theater, which ran from January 1974 to December 1982. Despite sharing a surname, Harmon has no relation to actor Mark Harmon or the Harmon-Nelson family.
