About

Jennifer Darling, born Joan Darling on June 19, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is an American actress whose career has spanned Broadway, television, film, and voice work across several decades. She began dancing at age three and, at fourteen, performed on The Original Amateur Hour. While studying at Carnegie Tech, she met Paul Itkin, whom she married before either of them graduated; the couple has a daughter. Because another actress had already registered the name Joan Darling with Actors' Equity Association, she adopted the professional name Jennifer Darling.

Darling appeared on Broadway between 1967 and 1969, with credits including Fire!, Maggie Flynn, and How Now, Dow Jones. She is originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Her screen career gained significant momentum through her recurring role as Peggy Callahan in The Six Million Dollar Man, appearing in four episodes between 1975 and 1976, and reprising the character in seven episodes of its spin-off The Bionic Woman from 1976 to 1978. Additional television work includes nineteen episodes of Eight Is Enough as Donna from 1977 to 1980, a role on the daytime serial The Secret Storm as Irene from 1970 to 1971, and guest appearances on The Incredible Hulk, The New Adventures of Wonder Woman, The Fall Guy, You Are There, and Mad About You.

Voice acting became a central part of Darling's career, with her most sustained animated role being Ayeka Masaki Jurai in the English dub of the Tenchi Muyo! series across most of its English adaptations. She also voiced Pythona in G.I. Joe: The Movie, Irma in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Scarlet Witch in the animated Iron Man series, Madame O in Bionic Six, Virulina and Fletchen in Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, Booey Bubblehead and additional characters in Galaxy High, Dia in Mighty Orbots, Amber in The Centurions, and Pixlee Trollsom and Deputroll Dolly in Trollkins, among numerous other animated series.

Her feature film voice credits include roles in A Bug's Life, Tarzan, The Iron Giant, The Emperor's New Groove, Monsters, Inc., Treasure Planet, Spirited Away, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Lilo and Stitch, Brother Bear, Madagascar, Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, and An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, as well as English-dub contributions to the Studio Ghibli films Ponyo and Porco Rosso. Her video game work includes characters in Baldur's Gate, King's Quest VIII: The Mask of Eternity, Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail!, and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
