About

Jenna Leigh Green is an American actress and singer from West Hills, California, who has worked across television, film, and stage, with Broadway credits spanning 2003 to 2007. After graduating from Simi Valley High School, she began building her profile in television, most notably through a recurring role as Libby Chessler on the series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch beginning in 1996. Additional television appearances during that period included guest spots on ER and Dharma & Greg, along with participation in Nickelodeon programming such as The Big Help and the game show Figure It Out.

Green's Los Angeles stage work encompassed productions of The Wizard of Oz, The Secret Garden, The Fantasticks, Romeo and Juliet, Into the Woods, and West Side Story. In 1999, she originated the role of Ivy in Bare: A Pop Opera, participating in both the original reading and the original Los Angeles productions of the show. She also performed with the Pussycat Dolls during their burlesque residency at The Roxy Theatre. In 2002, she appeared in the television movie First Shot, and in 2005 she played Betty in the musical film Open House.

Her involvement with Wicked became a defining chapter of her stage career. In March 2005, she opened the role of Nessarose on the First North American Tour, simultaneously understudying the lead role of Elphaba and ultimately performing that role more than 40 times. She exited the tour on March 5, 2006, and transferred directly to the Broadway production, marking her Broadway debut. Green reprised Nessarose on Broadway through December 31, 2006, before returning to the role in the original Los Angeles production, where she performed from February through December 2007. Her replacement in Los Angeles was Marcie Dodd. Green also appeared in the Broadway concert Linda Eder: The Holiday Concert, with her Broadway work collectively running from 2003 to 2007.

In 2004, Green relocated to New York City, where she again played Ivy in Bare during its off-Broadway run. The cast album for that production was released in 2007 and includes her work. Also in 2004, she performed in concerts and benefits and took part in a workshop of a new musical called Mask, playing the role of Diana.

Following her time with Wicked, Green starred as Sally Simpson in a production of The Who's Tommy at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, which ran from June 18 through July 6, 2008. That same year she appeared as Violet Golding in the Cold Case episode titled "Wednesday's Women," and on September 21, 2008, she made her West End debut in the benefit concert Never Neverland at the Duchess Theatre in London, an event supporting ovarian cancer awareness and NCH that also featured Eden Espinosa and Scott Alan.

In February 2009, Green guest starred on the CBS series Ghost Whisperer, playing Carrie in the episode "Ghost Busted." During the summer of 2010, she appeared as Heather Chandler in a concert workshop of Heathers: The Musical. That fall, she participated in the concert revue For the Record: Quentin Tarantino in Los Angeles, presented by ROCKLA for Show at Barre, which ran from August 12 through October 30, 2010, alongside Tracie Thoms, Autumn Reeser, Ty Taylor, and Audra Mae. She returned to Show at Barre in a production that ran from February 12 through June 30, 2011, which also featured Thoms, Arielle Jacobs, and Kate Reinders.

In 2014, Green starred in the off-Broadway musical The Anthem at the Lynn Redgrave Theatre in New York City. The production was directed and choreographed by Rachel Klein, with a book by Gary Morgenstein, lyrics by Erik Ransom, and music by Jonnie Rockwell. Her co-stars included Randy Jones, Remy Zaken, Ashley Kate Adams, and Jason Gotay. Green has also made appearances in the television series Bones, in the episode "The Change in the Game," and in Castle, in the episode "Sucker Punch."
