About

Jarrod Spector is an American actor and singer born in 1981 in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, who maintained a Broadway presence spanning from 1987 to 2018. He is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Spector first appeared on Broadway as a child, making his debut in Les Misérables in the role of Gavroche. He subsequently studied economics at Princeton University before leaving without completing his degree to return to acting. In 2007, he joined the second San Francisco cast of Jersey Boys, taking on the role of Frankie Valli, a part he would go on to perform in Chicago and eventually on Broadway.

His Broadway work in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical ran from January 2014 to February 2016, during which he portrayed Barry Mann. That performance earned him a 2014 Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical, as well as a 2014 Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. Also in 2014, Spector participated in the recording of the demo English-language version of Death Note: The Musical, performing the role of L alongside Jeremy Jordan, who sang the role of Light.

Spector starred as Sonny Bono in The Cher Show at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway from 2018 to 2019. He later returned to Broadway in Hamilton, playing King George III from September 12, 2023 through August 4, 2024.

Outside of his stage work, Spector and his wife, actor Kelli Barrett, whom he married on October 26, 2014, perform a cabaret act together called "This Is Dedicated: Music's Greatest Marriages," which they presented in March 2017 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
