Jane Hallaren

Jane Hallaren is an American actress whose career spanned stage, film, and television. She made her Broadway appearance in 1968, performing in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She later became a recognized presence in American film and television before retiring from the profession.

Among her film credits, Hallaren appeared in the 1980 comedy Hero at Large, playing Gloria Preston, and in the 1981 films Body Heat, in which she portrayed Stella, and Modern Romance, in which she played Ellen. The 1983 film Lianna, in which she took on the role of Ruth, became one of her most noted screen appearances. That same year she portrayed Virginia Van Upp in Rita Hayworth: The Love Goddess. In 1984 she appeared in Unfaithfully Yours as Janet, and in 1985 she was cast as Margaret in Stark. Her film work continued with A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon in 1988, where she played Faye Reardon, followed by Lost Angels in 1989, in which she portrayed Grace Willig, and My Girl in 1991, in which she appeared as Randall.

Hallaren's television work included recurring and guest appearances across multiple series. She portrayed Lydia Budroe Kraft in a 1989 episode of Moonlighting and Laura Frazier in a 1988 episode of Matlock. Her credits also include The Paper Chase, Santa Barbara, Simon & Simon, Melrose Place, Civil Wars, L.A. Law, and Home Improvement, with her television appearances spanning from the mid-1980s through 1997.
