About

Jane Actman (April 6, 1949 – October 20, 2018) was an American actress whose career spanned stage and television across more than a decade. Born in 1949, she died in New York City on October 20, 2018, at the age of 69.

Actman launched her professional career on Broadway in 1968, taking a role in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. That stage credit marked the beginning of a career that would shift primarily toward television work in the years that followed.

Her early television appearances included a guest role on The Virginian, in which she portrayed Laurie Cantrell in the season eight premiere episode "A Woman of Stone." In 1970, she appeared in the first season of The Partridge Family, playing a character named Tina, a women's equal rights organizer and love interest to Keith Partridge, portrayed by David Cassidy.

In 1972, Actman joined the cast of The Paul Lynde Show, a comedy series in which she played the recurring role of Barbara Simms Dickerson. Four years later, she was cast as Nancy Lawrence Maitland in the television drama series Family, a role that was ultimately filled by Meredith Baxter. Actman's final screen credit came in 1979 with an appearance in the television series Trapper John, M.D., after which she retired from acting.
