Jan Handzlik

Jan Lawrence Handzlik, born on September 21, 1945, is an American lawyer and former child actor who began his performing career on Broadway before transitioning to a distinguished legal career in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Jean, was a Broadway actress and opera singer. As a young child, Handzlik lived in Weehawken, New Jersey.

Handzlik's first major acting role came in 1956, when he was cast as young Patrick Dennis in the Broadway comedy Auntie Mame, selected for the part from among hundreds of boys who auditioned. He reprised the role in the 1958 film adaptation of Auntie Mame, which received five Academy Award nominations. His television work included a role as Tommy in the Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" in 1961, as well as an appearance in an episode of the Camera Three anthology series.

After retiring from acting, Handzlik pursued a legal career, initially working as a federal prosecutor before establishing himself as a white collar criminal defense attorney. He served as chair of the American Bar Association's National White Collar Crime Committee. Among the notable clients he has represented are Steven Seagal, Stanley "Tookie" Williams, Joe Francis, and Florian Homm.

In his personal life, Handzlik married Barbara Jean Handzlik. The couple's daughter, Anna, married lawyer and political commentator Jordan Sekulow.
