Jamie Marsh

Jamie Marsh, now known professionally as Jamie Galen, is an American actor whose work spans theatre, television, and film. He was born on September 17, 1966, at The Children's Aid Society of New York City to an unwed teenage mother and was subsequently placed with a foster family who adopted him. In 1981, while living with his adoptive family in Stockholm, Sweden, he made his first screen appearance in the film Montenegro.

Marsh trained at HB Studio in New York from 1987 to 1991 under Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof. That training culminated in his Broadway debut when he originated the role of Jay Kurnitz in the original cast of Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers in 1991. The production, which ran at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, went on to win both the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Marsh performed the role more than 800 times over the course of the run.

In 1992, Ellen Burstyn invited him to join The Actors Studio. Beginning in 1993, he became an active member of the organization's west coast chapter, where he studied with Mark Rydell, Martin Landau, Penelope Allen, and Barbara Bain.

His film credits include Best Laid Plans, Brainscan, and Even Money. On television, he has appeared in ER, The X-Files, and NYPD Blue. He has also worked in national advertising campaigns for Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Budweiser, M&M's, and AT&T. His M&M's commercial, which has aired each Halloween since 2001, has become a recognized fixture of the campaign.

In 2023, after locating his birth families through Ancestry DNA, he changed his surname to Galen and is now known both personally and professionally as Jamie Galen.
