About

Jake Silbermann is an American actor, writer, and producer born on June 1, 1983, in New York City. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater from Syracuse University, where he performed in productions including Piñata, Three Sisters, and True West. Before his television career began, he appeared in the 2006 film Brunch of the Living Dead and in an international television commercial for Gillette Fusion Power.

Silbermann joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama As the World Turns in March 2007, making his on-air debut on June 1 of that year — his 24th birthday — in the role of Noah Mayer. His character's relationship with Luke Snyder, played by Van Hansis, was recognized as the first gay male supercouple in soap opera history. Two months before his debut aired, Silbermann attended the GLAAD Media Awards alongside Hansis and co-star Jennifer Landon. The Noah and Luke storyline received coverage on Entertainment Tonight. Silbermann, who identifies as straight, stated that he did not hesitate when offered the role.

His primetime television work spans more than a decade. On April 28, 2008, he appeared in the Gossip Girl episode "Desperately Seeking Serena," and on April 29, 2012, he played Jared Buck in The Good Wife episode "Affairs of State." On November 18, 2014, he portrayed NYPD officer Phil Cain in the Person of Interest episode "Point of Origin." In December 2018, he appeared as Marv Feinberg in two episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and on February 11, 2019, he played Chris Fields in the Bull episode "Leave it All Behind." In July 2023, he appeared in the final three episodes of The Blacklist's series finale. In addition to television, Silbermann's film credits include Let Me Make You a Martyr (2016), The Report (2019), and The Atlantic City Story (2020), among others. He signed with DNA Model Management in New York City in 2008 and appeared in commercials for AT&T in 2009, Canon in 2011, and BMW in 2016.

Silbermann built a substantial stage career before and alongside his screen work. His Off-Broadway credits include the 2010 production of Dracula at the Little Shubert Theater, where he played Jonathan Harker; Phaedra Backwards at The McCarter Theatre in 2011 as Hippolytus; Derby Day at CTC in 2011 as Johnny Ballard; and Marie Antoinette at the A.R.T./Yale Rep in 2012 as Axel Von Fersen. He also appeared in the Off-Off-Broadway production of 3C at the Rattlestick in 2012. In 2014, he reprised his role in Derby Day in a Los Angeles production at the Elephant Theatre, and played The Visitor in Picasso at the Lapin Agile at the Long Wharf Theatre.

Silbermann's Broadway career spans from 2013 to 2026. He made his Broadway debut in Richard Greenberg's The Assembled Parties at Manhattan Theatre Club in 2013, playing the dual roles of Scotty and Tim Bascov, and subsequently appeared in Death of a Salesman. He also understudied the role of Danny in the 2023 Off-Broadway production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
