Ivo Dawson

Ivo Dawson was a British actor born on 13 December 1879 in Rutland, England. He died on 7 March 1934 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 54.

Dawson maintained an active presence on Broadway between 1900 and 1911, appearing in a range of productions that included Green Stockings, We Can't Be as Bad as All That, The Speckled Band, The Brass Bottle, and The Morals of Marcus.

Beyond his stage work, Dawson built a substantial screen career spanning the silent film era. His film appearances began in 1919 with The Miracle of Love and The Broken Melody, and he continued working steadily through the following years. His credits from 1920 include The Truth About Husbands and Footlights and Shadows. In 1921 alone he appeared in four productions: The Great Adventure, The Princess of New York, The Other Person, and The Money Maniac. The year 1922 brought three further films — The Green Caravan, Bentley's Conscience, and Diana of the Crossways — followed by Out to Win and The Woman Who Obeyed in 1923, and Straws in the Wind in 1924. He returned to the screen in 1929 with After the Verdict and The Hate Ship.
