About
Isabella Esler is an American actress and singer of Colombian descent, born on February 20, 2004, in Roseburg, Oregon. She grew up in San Jose, California, and attended Archbishop Mitty High School, graduating in 2022. Her theatrical training began at age six with Children's Musical Theater San Jose, where she appeared in youth productions including Urinetown, Once Upon a Mattress, and American Idiot. In 2022, she performed as Sandy Cheeks in that company's production of The SpongeBob Musical. At Archbishop Mitty, Esler took on a leading role in Mamma Mia!, for which she received the National Youth Theatre Award for Best Lead Performance in a Musical.
Following her high school graduation, Esler was cast as Lydia Deetz in the first national tour of Beetlejuice, a role that led her to withdraw from a planned enrollment at Pace University. The tour launched in December 2022 and ran through August 2024, during which Esler remained with the production. Her work on the tour brought her critical recognition and established her Broadway-era career, with her Beetlejuice credit spanning 2022 to 2025.
Esler subsequently took on the role of Alice Carter in Life After, a musical that played a Toronto engagement at the Ed Mirvish Theatre from April 16 to May 10, 2025. In February 2025, a music video of Esler performing "Poetry," a song from the production, was released. Her performance in Life After earned her a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Individual at the 2025 Dora Awards.
