Herbert Harrison Heyes was an American actor born on August 3, 1889, in Vader, Washington. He worked across both stage and screen throughout a career spanning several decades, accumulating credits in nearly 100 films between 1915 and 1956 before his death on May 31, 1958, in North Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Heyes maintained an active presence on Broadway between 1944 and 1945, appearing in four productions during that period. His stage credits included State of the Union and According to Law, as well as two comedies, Happily Ever After and Down to Miami.

On screen, Heyes built a prolific body of work over more than four decades of film appearances. Among his most recognized roles was his part in the 1947 film Miracle on 34th Street, in which he portrayed Mr. Gimbel, the owner of Gimbel's Department Store.
