Helena Winifred Carroll was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on November 13, 1928. After studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, she relocated to the United States in the 1950s. Together with Dermot McNamara, she founded the Irish Players repertory company. She frequently appeared in works written by her father, playwright Paul Vincent Carroll. Her film credits include "The Friends of Eddie Coyle," "The Jerk," "The Dead," "The Mambo Kings," "Rocky V," "Ghost Story," "Love Affair," "Loving Couples," and "The Clairvoyant." On television, she appeared in "Ironside," "Kojak," "Murder, She Wrote," and "Touched by an Angel."
