About

Helen Marlborough (1867–1955) was an American actress whose career spanned both the stage and silent film. Born in 1867, she worked as a performer for decades before her death on August 27, 1955.

Marlborough's stage career began in the 1890s, when she took part in multiple revivals of the musical 1492. Her Broadway work extended from 1893 to 1905 and included appearances in the musicals 1492 and Miss Dolly Dollars. She was noted for bearing a strong physical resemblance to the actress May Irwin. Earlier in her career she had a slim build, though as she grew older she transitioned into character roles.

In addition to her stage work, Marlborough appeared in silent films. Her verified screen credits include The Wild Goose Chase (1915), The Incorrigible Dukane (1915), in which she appeared without credit, An Innocent Crook (1916), and The Tongues of Men (1916). Her documented filmography is limited, though it is possible she appeared in additional productions that are now lost or for which she went uncredited.
