Heather Alicia Simms

Heather Alicia Simms, born February 25, 1970, in Hartford, Connecticut, is an American actress whose career spans Broadway, film, television, and voice acting. Though born in Hartford, Simms was raised in New York City, where she attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn.

Simms has maintained a sustained presence on Broadway from 2003 through 2023, accumulating credits across a range of dramatic works. Her stage appearances include Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, A Raisin in the Sun, The Exonerated, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Purlie Victorious, and Gem of the Ocean.

On screen, Simms has appeared in the films Broken Flowers (2005), The Nanny Diaries (2007), and The Light of the Moon. Her television work includes guest appearances on Homicide: Life on the Street, Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Third Watch, and The Good Wife. She took on a recurring role in the Netflix series Luke Cage in 2018, portraying Auntie Ingrid, and in 2022 joined the Oprah Winfrey Network drama The Kings of Napa in the recurring role of Yvette King.

Simms has also contributed voice performances to several video games, including Red Dead Revolver, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony, Mafia III, and All the Beautiful Things.
