About
Hattie McIntosh (1860–1919) was a vaudeville and Broadway performer born in Detroit, Michigan. She built her career both as a solo artist and alongside her husband, fellow performer Tom McIntosh, with whom she toured extensively.
Among the productions McIntosh performed with her husband were Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh in the King of Bavaria and A Hot Old Time in Dixie. The couple also joined Sam T. Jack's The Creole Show. Her international work included a performance at Shaftesbury in 1903.
McIntosh's Broadway career spanned from 1903 to 1909 and encompassed four musicals: In Dahomey, Abyssinia, Bandanna Land, and Mr. Lode of Koal. The New York Public Library holds an image from In Dahomey depicting McIntosh and fellow lead actors performing a dance in Boston. Following that production, she took the lead role in In Society.
Tom McIntosh died of a stroke in 1904. McIntosh later married Billy King in 1912 and subsequently performed with the Billy King Stock Company. In July 1915, she appeared in My Old Kentucky Home as part of King's company.
