Harvey Paul Jason, born in London on 29 February 1940, is an English former actor and co-owner of Mystery Pier Books, an independent bookstore specializing in first editions. He is the son of Marie Goldblatt and actor Alec Jason.
Jason made his Broadway appearance in 1966, performing in Hostile Witness. His stage work ran alongside a screen career that encompassed both film and television. On film, he appeared in Save the Tiger, Oklahoma Crude, The Gumball Rally, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park, working primarily as a character actor across several decades.
Television occupied a significant portion of his career during the 1970s and 1980s, during which he took on dozens of roles. Among his more notable television credits from 1976 are the character Pinky in Rich Man, Poor Man and Harry Zief in Captains and the Kings.
Jason met actress Pamela Franklin in 1970 on the set of the film Necromancy, and the two later married. They have two sons together. In 1998, Jason and his son Louis opened Mystery Pier Books in West Hollywood, California, registering the shop on AbeBooks at that time. Jason has been the subject of video interviews about the bookstore, including one produced by filmmaker John D. McMahon, which is available on YouTube.
