About

Harry Strang (December 13, 1892 – April 10, 1972) was an American actor whose career spanned stage, film, and television. Born in the late nineteenth century, he accumulated credits across more than 500 film and television productions between 1929 and 1965.

Strang's stage work included a Broadway appearance in The Girl in the Train in 1910. His screen career, which followed more than two decades later, established him primarily as a character actor. His film roles frequently cast him as clerks, beat policemen, and soldiers, and he appeared regularly in two-reel comedies produced by RKO Radio Pictures.

Television also featured prominently in Strang's later career. Among his small-screen credits were appearances on Maverick, One Step Beyond, and Perry Mason.

Outside of his performing career, Strang served as a machine-gun instructor for recruits in the United States Marines.
