Harold Kasket

Harold Kasket (26 July 1926 – 20 January 2002) was an English actor whose career spanned theatre, film, and television across several decades, beginning in the 1940s. Born in London, he would go on to work across multiple performance mediums before his death in his native city.

Kasket's stage career included notable work on both sides of the Atlantic. In 1951, he appeared on Broadway in two productions, Caesar and Cleopatra and Antony and Cleopatra, the latter of which featured Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. His theatre work continued in subsequent decades, and in 1979 he took on the role of Uncle Ben in a National Theatre production of Death of a Salesman, appearing opposite Warren Mitchell.

On screen, Kasket was frequently cast as Arab or mainland European characters across a wide range of film and television productions. His television credits included appearances in Maigret, The Saint, Danger Man, Z-Cars, The Avengers, Department S, and The Tomorrow People. Among these, his portrayal of Korlandt in the Department S episode The Perfect Operation was a particularly noted performance. His final screen role came in the 1988 television miniseries War and Remembrance.
