Hannah Elless

Hannah Elless is an American actress, singer, and painter who appeared on Broadway between 2001 and 2019. A native of Southwest Michigan, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Michigan University before pursuing a professional career in theatre and television.

Elless made her Broadway debut in the 2012 revival of Godspell, the musical by Stephen Schwartz. Her subsequent Broadway credits include Jack Thorne's A Christmas Carol and Mamma Mia!, as well as the original production of Bright Star, the musical written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. In Bright Star, she originated the role of Margo Crawford, a performance that drew notice from major publications. Deadline described the performance as "radiant," while The New York Times characterized her portrayal of Margo as "genially wry."

Beyond Broadway, Elless made her television debut on HBO's The Deuce. She has also taken on the role of Mary Follett in Knoxville, a new musical with music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. The production is based on two Pulitzer Prize-winning works: James Agee's novel A Death in the Family and Tad Mosel's play All the Way Home.
