About
Greg Mullavey, born Gregory Thomas Mulleavy Jr. on September 10, 1939, in Buffalo, New York, is an American actor with credits spanning film, television, and stage. He altered the spelling of his surname from Mulleavy to Mullavey to distinguish himself from his father, who shared the same name.
Mullavey's Broadway career extended from 1979 to 1993 and included appearances in Romantic Comedy, Rumors, and The Sisters Rosensweig. Beyond Broadway, he has accumulated more than a hundred stage productions across North America, including a 2015 appearance opposite Marlo Thomas in the New York debut of Joe DiPietro's Clever Little Lies at the Westside Theatre.

His film work spans several decades, beginning with Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice in 1969. Subsequent film appearances include C.C. and Company, Raid on Rommel, The Birdmen, The Love Machine, and The Christian Licorice Store, all from 1971, followed by I Dismember Mama and Stand Up and Be Counted in 1972. Later credits include The Single Girls and The Disappearance of Flight 412, both from 1974, The Hindenburg in 1975, in which he portrayed Herbert Morrison, and The Census Taker in 1984.
Mullavey's father, Greg Mulleavy, played major league baseball for the White Sox and Red Sox and later served as a third base coach for both the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
