About

Grant Mandel Rosenmeyer, born July 3, 1991, in Manhasset, New York, is an American actor and screenwriter. The son of Debra and Colin Rosenmeyer, he grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2012.

Rosenmeyer began his career on Broadway, where his credits include playing Macduff's son in Macbeth and Gavroche in Les Misérables. His Broadway work spanned from 1987 to 2000. He made his feature film debut in 2001 as Ari Tenenbaum, the son of Ben Stiller's character, in Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums, a role that earned him a Young Artist Award nomination. He also appeared as Young Mordechai in The Hebrew Hammer.

From 2003 to 2004, Rosenmeyer starred as the title character in the FOX television sitcom Oliver Beene, produced by Steven Levitan. His television work also includes guest appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Monk, Jonny Zero, Blue Bloods, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, as well as a role in Curb Your Enthusiasm as Wilson, a Make-A-Wish patient who blackmails Larry David.

In 2016, Rosenmeyer appeared in the Jodie Foster-directed film Money Monster alongside Julia Roberts and George Clooney, and starred opposite Lindsey Shaw in the romantic comedy Temps. He followed those credits with the heist comedy Chasing the Blues in 2018.

As a screenwriter and filmmaker, Rosenmeyer's short film Fugue won Best Student Film at the Connecticut Film Festival in June 2009. He co-wrote and starred in the short comedy The Smut Locker, which received a CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2014. That same year, his feature script The Defectives reached the semifinalist round of the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.

Rosenmeyer produced and starred in Come As You Are, a road trip dramedy based on the real-life experience of Asta Philpot, featuring Gabourey Sidibe, Hayden Szeto, and Ravi Patel. The film premiered at South by Southwest in March 2019, subsequently won audience and jury prizes at additional festivals, and was acquired for distribution by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
